History of Growth

 
Founded in 1980 by Scott Wohlstein, The Photonics Group evolved from a single-person consultancy to a world-leading service provider in Photonics.

Incorporated in January 1988, the firm currently has, at any one time, 18 professional consultants in the United States and overseas.

In 1995, The Photonics Group added a product development group to perform external, client-driven prototype work, along with its’ own internal research, development and applications programs.

Personnel and Careers
 
The people who make up The Photonics Group are the most important asset to our company and our clients. We have a unique reputation in the industry of being easy to get involved and professionally efficient. Our people are chosen from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience. For instance, we expect our people to have no less than 5 years project management experience (including some form of direct P&L responsibility) in addition to their technical expertise.

Engagement Arrangements
  • Hourly - Typical for R&D, studies, on-site advisory services, and expert witness projects.
  • Not-To-Exceed - Typical for standard service programs.
  • Time and Materials - Typical for prototype and development services.
 
Payment Options
  • Check (Corporate, bank, and cashier) and Credit Cards (MasterCard, VISA, American Express, and Discover) the use of which, provides a 1.5% discount against the invoice.
 
 
 
Terms
  • 1% UPON RECEIPT, NET 10 DAYS - For new clients, fast-track, and emergency support.
  • 1% 10 NET 30 DAYS - For standard projects
    All hardware invoices are either direct-to-pay, pre-paid by client
