| A start-up medical laser company had completed the design of a CO2-based surgical laser, but required assistance to assure the product was safe and met any/all regulatory requirements. Additionally, a Photonics safety consultant was required to ensure their workplace was safe with respect to the laser work and testing required to manufacture the product. |

| The Photonics Group was contracted and bundled Safety Engineering/Loss Prevention services with Certification and Compliance services to first make sure the product engineering incorporated met the necessary regulations. Then, from a user safety standpoint, ergonomics were applied and the design adjusted. An audit was performed at the manufacturing facility to determine the status of workplace safety issues. A plan was drawn, employees were trained, and administrative systems were installed and tested. |
